You won’t believe what’s been going on at Tchotchkes

It’s been awhile since our last blog post; so many projects and so little time. We hope you enjoy what we’re doing and maybe find some inspiration for your projects using Dixie Belle paints.

David’s sister in law brought us her parents dining room table that is 85 years old to see if we could breath new life into that family jewel. Hers is what it looked like when she brought it to the shop:

And here is what it looks like completed. We used cucumber ice and weeping willow CMP, American Honey No Pain Gel Stain, Clear coat satin and Gator Hide.

Lots of us are getting ready for Halloween and Marie found a great way to use Dixie Belle A.J’s wildflower transfers, all three colors of chameleon wax (apricot, cactus and lilac) and Clear Coat gloss to make a beautiful and unique pumpkin.

She also did an orange pumpkin using steampunk transfers, Best Dang black and brown waxes, silver and gold gilding waxes and Clear Coat gloss.

And finally, we are having a class October 21st at 11am and it’s going to be HUGE. We will be teaching you how to do a German type schmear technique along with tips and tricks using stencils. The class is just $25.00 and will be so much fun. All supplies are provided so contact us for reservations quick. Here is what we will be using in the class, which will be perfect for fall and Halloween. Hope to see you there!

And here is a sneak peek of a new custom project piece. It’s going to be a ton of work stripping and the customer wants heavy duty hairpin legs added.

All the best from Athens, Tx.
